We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planner/Scheduler to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and adjusting the production schedule on the shop floor based on customer requirements, material availability, and operational capacity. The ideal candidate will have experience in a make-to-order manufacturing environment and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and efficient production.

 

Your Responsibilities Will Be: 

 

• Develop and maintain the production schedule for the shop floor in alignment with customer delivery requirements.


• Create production orders and modify them as needed within the MRP system to reflect changes in demand, material availability, or production capacity.


• Review material demand, lead times, and ETA to ensure alignment with the production schedule.


• Coordinate with Purchasing, Inventory, and Production teams to resolve material shortages or delays.


• Monitor work-in-progress and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or capacity.


• Collaborate with Project Managers, Production Supervisors, and Engineering to ensure schedule feasibility and accuracy.


• Identify and communicate potential scheduling conflicts or risks to delivery timelines.


• Maintain accurate records of production schedules, changes, and justifications.


• Participate in daily/weekly production meetings to provide updates and gather input.


• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to scheduling and production planning.

 

Required Qualifications: 

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience).


• 5 plus years’ experience in a planner/scheduler role.


• Proven experience as a Planner/Scheduler in a manufacturing environment, preferably make-to-order.


• Strong understanding of production planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory control.


• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.


• Effective communication and collaboration skills across departments.


• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Travel Requirements:


• Some travel may be required.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

 

• Office environment; Typing, sitting, standing, walking. Constant mental and/or visual attention; the flow of work requires focused, detailed attention while working at a computer monitor.

 

• The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions; And this job operates in a plant where you are exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noises.

 

• Compliance with company attendance standard. Work hours may vary during peak production cycles.
